Thomas Bunstead
Thomas Bunstead has translated some of the leading Spanish-language writers working today, including Yuri Herrera and Enrique Vila-Matas. Twice a winner of English PEN Awards, his translation of ‘The Mad People of Paris’ by Rodrigo Blanco Calderón won an O. Henry Prize and the McGinnis Ritchie Award in 2023, and in 2024 The Book of All Loves by Agustín Fernández Mallo won the Cercador Prize. Thomas was co-editor of the translation journal In Other Words from 2015 to 2020, and from 2021 to 2024 a Royal Literary Fellow teaching at Swansea University and Aberystwyth University. He lives in Pembrokeshire, west Wales.
